Budle Bay Bothies

Budle Bay Bothies, sister company to Budle Bay Croft, provides a luxury 5* Northumberland glamping experience in a traditionally made, hand built shepherds hut – Two Shakes.

Couple and dog friendly, Two Shakes offers a unique combination of coast and country, a real farm-stay experience close to the wonderful castles in this spectacular area of North Northumberland on the edge of the Parish of Bamburgh.

Two Shakes is located within several acres of a working small holding at Budle Bay, in the historic hamlet of Waren Mill, called Budle Bay Croft. Budle Bay, a bird watcher’s paradise, is nestled into the Lindisfarne Nature Reserve, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and Special Scientific Interest.  Budle Bay Croft, with the Cheviot Hills to the west, is close to the Northumberland Coastal Path and Cycle Route, and will have the England Coast path going through it very soon. Two Shakes is an ideal location for walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and outdoor sport enthusiasts.

Budle Bay Croft offers family friendly home-from-homes, designed to keep the kids occupied so you can chill. Amazingly well equipped, so you don’t have to squash everything into your car, our luxury Northumberland cottages have been designed for comfort and serenity, helping you to unwind and completely relax.

Beacon Hill Farm

Situated deep in the unspoilt countryside between the Cheviot Hills and the magnificent Northumberland Heritage Coast, Beacon Hill Holiday Cottages stands on the site of an ancient beacon and enjoys marvellous views in all directions. Because of its elevated position, Beacon Hill has always been of local strategic importance and there is evidence of an Iron Age village around the hill top.

Miller’s Loft, Budle Bay

Antique furnishings blend cleverly with a contemporary colour palette in this gorgeous top floor loft apartment right at the water’s edge. Proudly anchored beneath the roof line of this Grade II listed former mill, Miller’s Loft sits just a couple of minutes’ drive from Bamburgh and makes a great base for guests to explore the area, or just relax and take in the views across this part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve.

A sink-into sofa and low-level window seats provide perfect places to survey the view across the waters of Budle Bay towards Lindisfarne Castle and Holy Island. There are walks abundant from the door, if that takes your fancy, or castles, beaches and eateries just a short drive away. Refurbished in 2019, with a contemporary kitchen and design-led furnishings – we just love it!
